5 Rules for Yorkie Training

5 Rules For Yorkie Training

Yorkie training is not an easy task, but following these five rules will help you and your yorkie along the way:

  1. One person from your family should do all of the training. Your yorkie could get confused if trained by more than one person.

  2. Make sure all of your family members use the same commands to avoid confusing the yorkie.

  3. Be consistent and maintain authority. Yorkies need to have clear rules know exactly what it is and isn't allowed to do.

  4. Never train your yorkie by hitting it. The best way to see results from your yorkie training is to use rewards for doing a command correctly and are scold the yorkie when a command is done incorrectly. Simply using a different tone of voice is sufficient for scolding.

  5. When you first start your yorkie training, make sure the sessions only last a few minutes at a time. Your yorkie will get bored with long training sessions and it may not learn as quickly.
