Yorkie Feeding Guidelines

Yorkie Feeding Guidelines

Here are a few things to keep in mind when feeding your yorkie:

  • Try to feed your yorkie in the same place and at the same time everyday. Your yorkie should also eat in a quiet place where it won't be disturbed.
  • Break up any large sized pieces of food or meat to avoid a choking hazard.
  • Try to only give your yorkie room temperature food.
  • Put out plenty of fresh water for your yorkie to drink.
  • Clean out your yorkie's food dish after every meal. Wash it out with hot water to kill off any bacteria that may be there.
  • Don't feed your yorkie any food or leftovers that have been seasoned. Yorkie kidneys can't process herbs and spices.
  • Sweets are not good for yorkies. They can cause tarter and cause your yorkie to be overweight.
  • Milk can give your yorkie diarrhea, so you should avoid giving it to your yorkie.
